Barstool Sportsbook Maryland Review
Barstool Sports launched in 2003 as a digital media company. They have, however, since used the platform to launch their Barstool Sportsbook in 2020.
There are major plans to expand by opening more retail shops like Barstool Sportsbook Maryland at Hollywood Casino in Perryville and launching more online sports betting sites.

- Odds could be more competitive
A Double Warm Welcome to Barstool Sportsbook Maryland
Many sportsbooks offer a welcome bonus to entice new customers in, but Barstool Sportsbook Maryland offers not one, but two welcome bonuses.
The welcome offer for new customers wanting to check out Barstool Sportsbook Maryland is a risk-free first bet up to the value of $1,000. If you win, there is nothing more to it, but if you lose your first bet, you will have your stake returned up to the said value as bonus cash which has a 1x wagering requirement and expires 01/01/2023.
Of course, both welcome offers are subject to terms and conditions. For example, you must not already have a Barstool Sportsbook account to be eligible for any of these bonuses. In addition, for the second welcome offer, it should be noted that if you use a cashout feature on any of your bets, this will deem you ineligible for the bonus.
New Player Bonus:
If your 1st bet loses, get an equal free bet up to $1,000
Are There Any Other Promotions and Offers?
There are a number of other promotions and offers available to bettors at Barstool Maryland.
First up is a small bonus, but one that will be welcomed by new and existing customers alike. All you have to do is update your “Betting Favorites” in your account preferences, which will add whatever sports you enjoy watching/placing wagers on into your favorites section for quick and easy access. In return, you’ll receive $5 in bonus cash for free, which comes with a small 1x wagering requirement.
Barstool Maryland also offers a Parlay+ promotion through which you can build parlays the way you want by combining not just different bets from the same games, but also across different sports. Only bets with the Parlay+ symbol next to them are eligible for inclusion in this promotion, and if a line becomes ineligible, like covering a player to score a touchdown who doesn’t make the roster, it will recalculate the odds.
Customers can also sign up for the mychoice rewards app, where placing bets can earn you real-time rewards. The more you bet, the more points you earn, and points earned will increase as you move up through the reward tiers. Once you have enough, points can be redeemed for free bets, hotel stays, money off dining out, and more.

The Barstool Sportsbook Maryland User Experience
Most sportsbooks are accessible in three ways: via a desktop site (also accessible on laptops), via a mobile site, and using a dedicated sports betting app. Here’s the part of our Barstool Maryland Review where we take a look at how well each one works, assessing it for criteria such as ease of use and navigation.
Barstool Sportsbook Website
For the most part, the desktop site looks really nice. It’s aesthetically pleasing with its navy blue screen and seems well laid out. We didn’t struggle to find a single thing we needed, with access to all the sports at the top, some popular features just below that menu, more navigation options on the left menu (which was collapsable), and then the bet slip on the right (also collapsable).
We really liked how you could hide menus and the bet slip, and then just make them pop out again with a simple click. It just keeps the page looking tidy, and gives you more space to display all the odds and markets that are available.
The font could be a little on the small side for some parts of the site, but other than that, we couldn’t fault it much at all. It was easy on the eye, easy to navigate, and generally well thought out.
Barstool Sportsbook Mobile Site
Whenever you go to a mobile sportsbook site, it always suggests you download their dedicated sports betting app. Sometimes you will do that, sometimes you will just want to use a mobile browser because maybe you don’t have storage on your smartphone.
However, most of the time, you can skip the pleasantries and use the sportsbook on your phone without an app. That was until I tried to use Barstool Sportsbook Maryland on my Android phone, at least. There was literally no option to head to a mobile site. This means that, unfortunately, you have to download the app unless you switch to the desktop site in Chrome, but then it’s all squished and tiny.
They really did miss a trick here not having it as an option.
Barstool Sportsbook App
As much of a pain as it was not having a mobile site, once we downloaded the app, we were very impressed. The app stuck with the same theme as the website, but the layout was much more compact, though everything was a breeze to navigate. It felt so intuitive, and all it took to get around was a swipe here and a tap there.
It was also great how you could access all areas you need in order to make changes to your account, deposit and withdraw funds, and even get in contact with customer support. We didn’t find a single thing we couldn’t do. You can even allow push notifications that update you on the progress of your bets and will let you know about new promotions you may be interested in.
Barstool Maryland Payment Methods
Payment methods are one of the key areas people should know about when choosing a sportsbook, which is why we cover them thoroughly in our Barstool Maryland Review.
You need to make sure that you can deposit funds in your account because if you can’t, you won’t be able to place bets. You also need to know which methods you can use to withdraw funds and approximately how long it will take. Lastly, you need to know what limits and fees are applicable to any actions.
That’s why we have created this handy little table below to show you all you need to know about the payment methods available at Barstool Maryland:
|Payment Method||Deposit||Min. Deposit||Processing Time||Withdrawal||Min. Withdrawal||Processing Time|
|ACH (eCheck)||✓||$10||Instant||✓||$10||3-5 business days|
|Cash (at Retail)||✓||$10||Instant||✓||$10||Instant|
|Check||✓||$250||Up to 14 business days|
|Online Banking||✓||$10||Instant||✓||$10||3-5 business days|
|Wire Transfer||✓||$10||Processed during banking hours|
Barstool Sportsbook offers more deposit methods than withdrawal, but this is common practice across all sportsbooks. They don’t charge any fees either, although they do make you aware that depending on the provider of your chosen payment method, you may or may not be charged a fee by them.
What we particularly like is the rare inclusion of Apple Pay, as not too many other sportsbooks offer that. Even rarer, Barstool has begun to accept cryptocurrency for deposits in some states, although if it will be available in MD is unknown. There was no minimum limit found on their site when investigating, and processing time varies on the fee you pay to transfer from your wallet or crypto exchange. It does look like Barstool is planning for the future, though, with that particular move.
Betting Options at Barstool Maryland
When it comes to betting options at Barstool Sportsbook Maryland, they have a good selection of options available. There are 18 different sports in total, although being honest, it’s more like 17 because Formula 1 could be covered in Motor Sports.
Here is the full list of sports available:
- Australian Rules
- Formula 1
- Motor Sports
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union
In terms of bet types, Barstool Maryland does offer you a large variety of different wagers, from moneyline bets to alternative lines, and props to futures betting as well. In addition to that, as mentioned, they have their Parlay+ promotion that allows you to place not just the same game parlays but multi-sport parlays as well on selected sporting events. Let’s not forget that Barstool also gives you access to live betting so you’re able to place wagers on games in-play.
Barstool Maryland’s Customer Service and Support
Barstool Sports doesn’t have the best of reputations, with them often posting controversial content and comments on blogs. They even recently received a fine of $10,000 in Indiana following the creation of a TikTok video, which was seen to be “false and misleading advertising”. So, given their poor history, we were interested to see how the Barstool Sportsbook experience differed.
To start with, we checked out the Barstool Sportsbook help center, and it was full of helpful information. It was easy to navigate by being split into relevant sections that help you to find what you were looking for. Some answers were a bit vague, and others weren’t available for the questions I had, so we had to contact their customer support team.
Now, you can contact them via email, where you fill out a form and send it. Replies for this can take, on average, up to 48 hours. You can also request a callback, but sometimes you don’t get one, and other times you get one, but it’s almost like they don’t want to be speaking to you. In my experience, they try to get rid of you as quickly as possible, sometimes without really helping.
The final method of contact is a 24/7 live support chat, which is by far the best way to get in touch. You’re connected to an agent almost instantly, waiting a couple of minutes at the most, and the staff are so helpful. It may be because they have time to find info and respond online compared to over the phone, but the live chat was the best part of the customer support network.
Barstool Sportsbook Odds Comparison
Odds could be a little better for Barstool Sportsbook Maryland because it is hit or miss with how good the odds are.
Sometimes odds seem competitive, like with futures MLB betting; for example, we took a look at the Washington Nationals‘ chances of winning the World Series. Both Barstool and Caesars Sportsbook had them at odds of +100000, which was much better than WynnBET, which didn’t even have that market available.
Nonetheless, if we look at the same bet for the Baltimore Orioles, Barstool only offered +75000 compared to Caesar’s +100000. That is a massive gap in the odds offered.
If we then take a look at pre-game odds for the MLB game between the Braves and the Phillies, Barstool offered moneyline odds of -129 for the braves, which is better than both Caesars at -135 and WynnBET Sportsbook at -133. But their odds were worse to back the Phillies at only +110, behind both Caesar’s +115 and WynnBET’s +123.
Responsible Gambling with Barstool Sportsbook Maryland
Barstool Sportsbook’s commitment to responsible gambling is admirable. It’s right there from the get-go on the main menu, with a section devoted to responsible gaming and patron protection, along with a support number for those who know someone who needs help or wants it themselves. All you have to do is call 1-800-GAMBLER.
There are also a bunch of tools that are available to help you gamble responsibly. From practical tips to setting your own deposit limits, there are a variety of ways that Barstool encourages you to take control. However, if you’re not able to, then timeouts are also available, and for those who want to give up completely, you can ask to self-exclude yourself from the sportsbook so that they won’t let you bet there again.
Overall Thoughts on Barstool Maryland
For the most part, our experience with Barstool Sportsbook Maryland has been a positive one. They offer a great double welcome bonus, with $10 free for just signing up, and wagering requirements are low too. Add to that the great selection of payment options available and a large number of markets available to bet on, and it’s a reasonably good offering from Barstool.
It would be nice if there was also a mobile site instead of being forced to download the app, and odds could be better on some markets as well. But besides that and the fact that customer support over the phone could be better, it’s an overall positive experience. A solid 4/5 as it’s good, but there is room for improvement.
